The Fourth National Teacher Education Conference
According to the Vice-presidency for Research and Technology of FTEU, the fourth National Teacher Education Conference will be held on May 8 and 9, 2018, along with the commemoration of the teacher's week and coinciding with the hundredth anniversary of the establishment of the first Iranian higher education institute (Daral-e-Taliman) at Kharazmi University.
It is worth noting that the FTEU, in line with the development of teacher education discourse in the country, and based on the belief that teacher education requires strong academic and academic support from the academic community, has conducted an annual series of national teacher education conferences since 2015. The third conference was held in Shiraz, 2012 in cooperation with the University of Shiraz.
Planning to hold the fourth National Teacher education Conference was started in 2017, and negotiations were welcomed Kharazmi University.
It is worth mentioning that FTEU has a memorandum of scientific-research collaboration with Kharazmi University. At the first meeting with the authorities of Kharazmi University, Dr. Saki, vice president for Research and Technology at FTEU, justifies the desire of FTEU to invite other universities to participate in this National conference.
He pointed out that FTEU alone is able to hold a national conference, but its purpose by involving other major universities is to take the attention of the academic community to the teacher education issues as a special and scientific field and needs of inter-university collaboration.
The objectives of the fourth National Teacher education Conference are as follows:
- Creating opportunities to discuss subjects, expansion of local knowledge and share experiences and views of teacher education experts at national level.
- Creating the opportunity to critically revise traditions of teacher education in Iran and the world
- Creating a platform for policy making and planning in teacher education and achieving high quality
- Helping to recognize teacher education as a professional ield in the Iranian scientific community
The main axes of the conference are as follows:
- Philosophical, social, economic, psychological and cultural dimensions of teacher education
- Structuring in teacher education
- Teacher education curriculum and professionalism in it
- New Technologies and Evolution in Teacher Education
- Training and improving teachers
It is worth noting that out of about 400 articles submitted by researchers and professors, 150 papers have been, some of which will be presented verbally and in the form of posters. The conference was attended by officials from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science, FTEU and Kharazmi University, techer education experts, “traditions of teacher education: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”
