To Prepare Good Teachers, Teacher Education Universities Have Priority over other Universities with Education Department
Dr. Mohammad Reza Sarkar Arani, a university teacher from Nagoya University in Japan and a researcher in Teacher Education field, sates that to prepare good teachers, teacher education universities have priority over other universities with education department, since Sience and education departments do not have knowledge of pedagogy. Pedagogy, value and knowledge are three factors that form teaching competency and qualification.
Arani said that affiliated schools are necessary elements for each teacher education campus and center, and all Japanese Teacher Education Universities are in touch with affiliated elementary, secondary and high school that teacher students can attend classes for practicum purposes from the first semester.
Constant engagement with schools can lead us to look at the characteristics of Iranian native pedagogy and answer the question of how we can improve Iranian pedagogy.
Dr. Sarkar Arani pointed out that teacher education system should not be limited to teacher education universities, it should be in touch with various sectors of the society, including mosques, schools, etc. "we are in age of listening, and the most successful schools are those that listen to student's words." said Arani. Iranian teachers need to be seen and the first place to see them is FTEU.
