History
History of Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU)
After the approval of the Supreme Cultural Revolution Council (SCRC) in 2011, and the aggregation of all teacher training centers (with old historical and experience backgrounds in teacher education in Iran), Farhangian University was established and began its activities in January 2012. Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU) is considered as one of the foremost centers for teacher preparation programs and education. It represents a critical point in the almost one century long tradition of teacher education in Iran. It is an umbrella organization with around 68 branches and around 100000 enrolled teacher students in various disciplines throughout the country. The branches are teacher education centers that existed long before the university organization took shape, indicating a major step toward redesigning teacher education tradition with an academic orientation. FarhangianUniversity, affiliated to the Ministry of Education andrun by the board of trustees, has legal personality, financial and administrative autonomy.
