On a live TV show on the Education Channel, Rajabali Borzooei, the chancellor of FTEU, introduced the university's necessity, significance, and position and offered some information on the university major selection.

History of Teacher Education

He stated that the teacher education academies have been training teachers since the 40s (Jalali Calendar). However, after the Islamic Revolution, teacher training was not a priority in some periods, when short-term courses trained teachers. In 2021, a statute was approved by the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, and FTEU was founded.

The Largest University in Iran with 100000 student-teachers

The chancellor of FTEU announced that, currently, 30000 student-teachers are admitted annually. He added that the policy of the government and the Ministry of Education is to employ teachers who graduate from FTEU, so the admission capacity of the university will be compatible with the needs of the Ministry of Education in 5 years.

Specific Test for Teacher Education

About the specific test for teacher education that was held in 2024 for the first time, Rajabali Borzooei reiterated that this test was held concurrently with the first stage of the national entrance exam of the universities.

Over 310000 Applicants for Teacher Education 

Rajabali Borzooei announced that 310000 applicants have selected their future major to be teachers with perks including official employment, regular salary, insurance coverage, health care, etc.

He stated that superior national talents in the fields of science, sport, Quran, … are admitted by FTEU, based on a regulation which is a memorable measure by Martyr Raisi.

24 to Be Age Limit for FTEU

In response to a question about the age limit for being admitted at FTEU, he stated that 24 is the maximum age and the students who are admitted at this university, will not have permission to select other majors at other universities unless they officially announce their relinquishment to Sanjesh Organization.

Exclusive Role of FTEU in Excellence of Iran

Rajabali Borzooei, pointing out the insight of the Education Minister and his support, added that many authorities believe that the future of the Islamic Republic relies on FTEU at present.

He explained the evolutionary plans and measures of FTEU and stated that “we are growing rapidly by the providence of Allah and the support of the Supreme Leader.
