Revival of Teacher Education during Presidency of Martyred President

In the session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly about the vital decisions on the next educational year, 2024-2025, the Minister of Education, Reza Morad Sahraei, emphasizing to supply the human resource, explained the status of teacher education over previous years and how it is revived by the martyred president during his presidency.

He illustrated the situation with a diagram in his hands which suggested the teacher education from before the revolution to the opening of Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU) with a peak in 1993, when there were over 500 teacher education centers. From 2004 to 2011, although FTEU was established, the recruitment of student-teachers approached zero. Now, the teachers at the peak of 1993 are about to retire, and there is a need for the teachers who were employed in 2018, 2019, and 2022. A Tsunami of retired teachers was reported in 2021. However, it was prevented by delaying the retirement of teachers in 2023, and last year the shortage of teachers was not felt as severe.
