Higher Recruitment Rate of Academic Members to be an Effective Step toward Quality Education

The Head of the Center for Supervision, Assessment, and Quality Assurance of Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU), Ayoub Ebrahimi, announced that the student-to-faculty member ratio has reached 85 to 1, which is due to the efforts made by the university to promote education quality, and a higher recruitment rate of academic members in recent years has made the foundation for the progress. He stated that about 113,656 student-teachers are studying at FTEU, and the university is known as a main pillar to supply human resources for the education system, so the annual admission capacity of 25-30 thousand students is considered for teacher education.

He added that the capacity is determined based on real educational needs, through precise methodology and proper analysis.

Graduation Statistics and Their Recruitment

Ebrahimi said that approximately 150000 student-teachers have been employed by the education system, which merely includes bachelor graduates with service commitment. He added that it must be noted that the rate of employment for the graduates of FTEU is 100 percent, i.e., all the admitted students to FTEU are called student-teachers and employed by the education system, which is a sort of scholarship.

Student-to-Professor Ratio and Infrastructure

Ebrahimi said that, given the recent recruitments and employments of the academic members, the student-to-faculty member ratio is 85 to 1. On the other hand, the per-capita educational space in FTEU is also different. The per-capita educational space and dormitory space are 6 and 4 square meters, respectively. The university, despite the challenges such as infrastructure limitations, has managed to play an effective role in educating competent teachers.
