Chancellor of Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU):
Teaching Competency to be Required for Student-Teachers

The chancellor of FTEU, Rajab Ali Borzooei, being interviewed by the reporter of IRNA about the measures taken by the university for teacher education, said that 2025 is named as the year for educational quality improvement, and a major topic in this field is related to the recruitment process of academic members.

 

Stating that the regulation for the promotion of academic members has been compiled, he added that a system of study opportunities and continuous education has also been designed to empower academics and help them acquire knowledge in various areas and conduct research projects.

 

Borzooei explained the boarding school educational system with an example: 10,000 out of 100,000 students participate in cultural plans, which means 90,000 students do not participate in the plans. The aim is that every graduate is provided with a minimum level of competencies, for instance, a teacher must be familiar with first aid to be able to deal with every student in particular situations.

 

The Psychological Status of Student-Teachers Must be Examined before Graduation

About the measures taken by the university to improve the psychological health of teachers in order to prevent any violence in the classroom atmosphere, the chancellor of Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU) stated that two out of 1,000 teachers might act violently in classrooms; however, they could have their own social issues, therefore, the psychological health of student-teachers must be examined before graduation, so that if some cases need counselling interferences, they will be provided with the service and then, continue teaching.

 

Special Evolution in Welfare of Student-Teachers

Borzooei announced some good news for student-teachers, that is special evolution in the welfare of teachers, so that the total cost of welfare services will be reasonable.
