Dr. Simaei Sarraf emphasizes Development of Scientific and Research Collaboration between Iran and China:
Memorandum of Understanding between Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU) and Xian Polytechnic University

According to the report by IRNA on the meeting attended by the Ministers of Education and Science of the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, on May 13th and 14th, 2025, in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China, Dr. Hossein Simaei Sarraf, the Iranian Minister of Science, Research, and Technology met the Chinese Minister of Education, and pointing out the common cultural, scientific, technological, and philosophical areas, emphasized the necessity of increasing communication of elites of the two countries, as well as the development of comprehensive relationships between Iran and China, since scientific and technological cooperation is of special position and is undoubtedly a major pillar of the mutual relationship.

 

In this regard, Dr. Rajab Ali Borzooei, the chancellor of FTEU, announced the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding on educational and research collaboration between FTEU in Iran and Xian Polytechnic University in China, which promises the development of inter-university interaction.

 

Increasing number of exchange students between the two countries and the development of sabbatical opportunities for both academic members and graduate students were other areas that Dr. Simaei Sarraf emphasized. He announced that the effort has been made that through the next trip of the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Pezeshkian, to China, three memoranda of understanding will be signed by the two parties; the memoranda will include the development of cooperation on the education of the Chinese and Farsi languages, the development of cooperation on technical and vocational training, and the development of scientific, research, and technology cooperation. He also suggested that this year, a meeting of the university chancellors of both countries, hosted by Iran, be held in Tehran.

 

He stated that we are aware of the capability and power of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and according to the command of the Chinese Prime Minister, we are prepared to collaborate for the promotion of the Chinese and Farsi languages. The Minister of Science, Research, and Technology added that the Chinese government has granted educational scholarships to over 200 Iranian students so far, and tends to increase the number of these students, while the Iranian government tends to increase the number of Chinese students in Iran.
