Chancellor of Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU) in Sports Council:
Spending on Sports is Strategic Investment for Vitality and Growth of University
Rajab Ali Borzooei, the chancellor of FTEU, referred to the Supreme Leader's emphasis on the importance of sports and considered sports a strategic investment to promote vitality, health, and culture of the university.
Stating that sports are low-cost but highly efficient activities, he added that the development of sports activities and infrastructure is of priority for the university in the current year. He defined sports as an effective bed to expand cultural activities and called for the participation of all sectors to realize the sports goals.
The chancellor of FTEU referred to the specialist and pervasive combination of the sports council as a sign of process planning vitality at the university level and clarified that all areas, having a consistent strategy, must have intellectual and practical participation toward a common goal.
He demanded that the corresponding sports councils be formed in provinces to be a step toward decision-making and the successful implementation of the macro policies of the university. In this regard, he pointed out the regulation of the sports working group of the staff and announced the establishment of the secretariat of the working group in the General Administration of Physical Education.
In the meeting, the head of the Student-Teachers Affairs Deputy and the vice president of the sports council, Vahid Aalamian, emphasized that all physical education plans of the university must be approved by the sports council and presented a report on the performance of the General Administration of Physical Education in the areas related to the infrastructure development, sports festivals, participation of student-teachers in national competitions, and winning championship titles. He announced the approval of the 25th Cultural-Sports Olympiad of male and female student-teachers across the country in the current summer.
The head of the representative office of the Supreme Leader in FTEU, Ali Taghavi, emphasized the positive effect of sports on the physical and mental health of both academic and non-academic members and stated that the university will be able to exploit the capacity of sports spaces in idle time for income generation, and apply the income for improving and maintaining the same spaces.
