Self-Mastery Is the Key to Leadership Success, Says Head of Supreme Leader's Representative Office in FTEU

In a recent meeting with university executives, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Ali Taghavi— Head of Supreme Leader's Representative Office in (Farhangian Teacher Education University) FTEU— emphasized that "self-discipline and faith in God are fundamental pillars of honor and social acceptance", particularly in leadership roles.

According to the Public Relations Office of FTEU, the address took place during a strategic roundtable meeting between provincial directors and members of the university’s board, held at Shahid Bahonar Camp. Paying tribute to the martyrs of the 12-day imposed war, Hujjat al-Islam Taghavi underscored that "the only path to true dignity and elevated societal status lies in holding fast to divine guidance, rejecting tyranny, and embracing faith in God"

“Honor belongs to God,” he affirmed, “and it is through sincere faith that individuals are granted dignity, reputation, and public acceptance.”

Taghavi described the distinction between the human soul and its desires as a delicate and essential matter. He explained that "the commanding self naturally inclines toward ego", making the effort to separate personal ambition from ethical conduct a sacred responsibility.

He reiterated that for individuals in managerial positions—particularly in academic and institutional settings—"conquering the self" and anchoring decisions in "spiritual integrity" is the true path to earning respect.

“There are two types of managers,” he noted. “The first are humble, faithful individuals who strive for self-control. The second are those who allow personal desires to turn leadership into a platform for individual advancement.”
