FTEU’s Role in Advancing Public Quranic Education Reviewed in Strategic Meeting

In a high-level meeting attended by senior officials from Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU) and the Head of the Human Resources Center at the Ministry of Education, the university’s responsibilities outlined in the Strategic Document for the Development of Public Quranic Education were thoroughly examined, alongside the current status of the Human Resources Development Task Force.

According to the university’s Public Relations Office, quoting the Secretariat of the Commission for the Development of Public Quranic Education, Mr. Mohammad Reza Mosayebzadeh opened the session by expressing appreciation for the presence of Chancellor of FTEU and the head of the Human Resources Center. He stated that the meeting was convened to address two key topics:

  1. The specific duties of FTEU within the strategic framework for Quranic education
  2. The operational status of the Human Resources Development Task Force

Mr. Hamidreza Ebrahimi, Vice Chancellor for Cultural and Educational Affairs at FTEU and Secretary of the Task Force, presented an overview of the “Quranic Literacy Training and Assessment Plan,” highlighting its current progress and implementation challenges.

Dr. Rajab Ali Borzooei, Chancellor of FTEU, emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration and synergy among stakeholders in executing the strategic document’s initiatives. He underscored the university’s pivotal role in aligning national educational goals with Quranic literacy efforts.

Mr. Bagherzadeh, Advisor to the Minister of Education and Head of the Human Resources Center, proposed the implementation of the “Quranic Literacy and Assessment Program” with a rigorous evaluation component. He stressed the need for credible and standardized assessments in both training workshops and in-service courses, recommending that all participating students receive official certification upon completion.

In the second part of the meeting, participants reviewed the actions associated with National Strategy 2 of the Strategic Document, which falls under the purview of the Human Resources Development Committee. Dr. Borzouei suggested prioritizing a select number of initiatives from this strategy for focused implementation during the current academic year.

Mr. Mosayebzadeh reiterated the Commission Chair’s emphasis on FTEU’s strategic role and called for the appointment of a qualified and capable individual to lead the Human Resources Development Committee effectively.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to enhance coordination and define actionable steps to advance the goals of the Strategic Document for Public Quranic Education and to strengthen the performance of the Human Resources Development Task Force.
