Empowering the Next Generation of Teachers: A Strategic Key to National Progress

Chancellor of Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU) Dr. Rajab Ali Borzooei emphasized the university’s central role in advancing Iran’s educational system, stating that “training a capable generation of teachers equipped with essential skills is the key to solve many of the country’s challenges.” His remarks came during a meeting with Mr. Gholamhossein Mozaffari, Governor of Khorasan Razavi Province, held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

According to the university’s Public Relations Office, the meeting took place at the provincial governor’s office and was attended by Mr. Habibollah Taghipour, Director of Provincial Campuses; Mr. Mohammad Ali Nabipour, Deputy Governor for Political, Security, and Social Affairs; and members of the executive board of FTEU in Khorasan Razavi.

Dr. Borzouei highlighted the strategic importance of FTEU in fulfilling the goals of Iran’s education system, referencing the Supreme Leader’s consistent emphasis on the significance of teacher training.

“If we succeed in cultivating a generation of skilled and well-rounded educators, many of the nation’s issues—across various sectors—can be effectively addressed,” he stated.

He noted the university’s upward trajectory and growing recognition by both the Ministry of Education and the Islamic Consultative Assembly, which now regard FTEU as a top national priority.

 Strategic Investments and Infrastructure Development

Dr. Borzooei pointed to the university’s academic excellence and the high caliber of its students, announcing that two major budget allocations—totaling 2 trillion rials—have been approved for infrastructure and equipment upgrades. These resources will be strategically directed toward creating standardized educational spaces comparable to those of leading universities, enabling sustainable development.

He also outlined plans to secure large-scale land plots in various provinces. In Khorasan Razavi, vertical expansion is being considered for male student facilities, while collaborative efforts with local authorities aim to establish suitable infrastructure for female students.

“Given the strong interest from top-performing students in this province, these developments will enhance our capacity to attract and support future educators,” he added.

Dr. Borzooei noted that Khorasan Razavi hosts the second-largest FTEU campus in the country after Tehran, and that expanding academic and residential facilities in line with this status is a top priority.

 Provincial Support and Long-Term Planning

Governor Mozaffari reaffirmed the direct link between educational quality and teacher competency, calling for comprehensive regional planning and long-term strategies to establish and expand FTEU campuses in Mashhad and surrounding cities. He also identified a proposed site in Golbahar as a promising location, citing its rapidly developing infrastructure.

During the session, Mr. Taghipour presented statistical data on student enrollment in the province and expressed gratitude for the governor’s support. He requested assistance in securing additional academic and residential spaces to accommodate incoming students in the upcoming academic year.
