Chancellor of Farhangian Teacher Education University:
Qualified Teacher Education is the University’s Top Priority in the New Academic Year

The Chancellor of Farhangian Teacher Education University (FTEU), on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, outlined the university’s initiatives and programs for training high-quality teachers and fulfilling the goals of the Fundamental Reform Document of Education during a live interview on the IRIB News Channel.

According to the Public Relations Office of FTEU, Rajab Ali Borzooei, in a live interview on the "Norooz Danesh" program marking the beginning of the new academic year, emphasized the unique status of FTEU within the higher education system of Iran. He stated, “According to the Supreme Leader, FTEU is the central pillar of Iran’s educational system; as noted by the Minister of Education, it is the heart of teacher training, enjoying the special support of the Supreme Leader, the government, the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, and the Islamic Consultative Assembly.”

He added, “With the goal of training qualified and multidimensional teachers, FTEU is committed to empower student-teachers academically, pedagogically, culturally, and with practical skills to ensure that its graduates can provide the best education for future generations throughout their professional service.”

Highlighting the university’s achievements over the past two years, Borzooei noted: "So far, 800 new faculty members with the required qualifications for the education system have been recruited, and a call will soon be issued to attract another 1,000 faculty members, raising the quality of teacher education even further. In addition, the student-teacher practicum and apprenticeship system has undergone significant transformation."

The Chancellor of FTEU, stressing the importance of enhancing the competencies of both faculty members and student-teachers, announced, “A specific bylaw for faculty members has been developed, and educational and skills-based programs in cultural, religious, Quranic, psychological, and social domains are actively being implemented.”

Borzooei further emphasized that, “With increased capital investment and improved facilities, FTEU has created an ideal environment for training student-teachers and has taken steps to reform the boarding education system. This highlights the distinctiveness of FTEU in terms of educational quality compared to other universities.”

He added that FTEU has strengthened its primary role in Iran’s educational system by attracting the country’s top talents and elites.

Referring to the recruitment of outstanding students, he remarked, “The most talented students are admitted to FTEU, which is the only university facilitating elite admissions without a national entrance exam. This year, 1,800 top talents who have achieved national and international distinction across nine categories of skills and excellence are undergoing the final phase of admissions."
