MP. Zarei: Sacred Defense and Education Are Closely Linked, Farhangian University is the Pillar of Iran’s Educational System
On Wednesday, September 24, Farhangian University commemorated Sacred Defense Week with a ceremony held at Shahid Bahonar Hall, Central Organization. Dr. Mojtaba Zarei, Member of Parliament for Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat, Eslamshahr, and Pardis, emphasized education’s vital role in the victories of the Islamic Revolution and the Sacred Defense, describing Farhangian University as the cornerstone of Iran’s educational system.
“Our revolution was an educational revolution, and no institution anywhere is more important than education. Students, teachers, and professors are the pillars of society, and developing their character and skills is the nation’s highest goal,” Dr. Zarei said.
He stressed that, as the Supreme Leader has noted, Farhangian University is the focal point of Iran’s educational system and cannot be replaced by any other institution. Zarei also cited recent school renovation efforts as key steps toward improving educational and cultural quality.
Discussing the link between Sacred Defense and education, Dr. Zarei noted that “during the eight years of the Sacred Defense, the greatest number of martyrs came from among students, and victories were the direct result of strong educational and human training.” He mentioned Martyr Qassem Soleimani and Martyr Hassan Bagheri as examples of leaders shaped by powerful education.
Dr. Zarei also highlighted the importance of rationality, constructive dialogue, and avoiding divisive politics. “There is no way forward except through education and the cultivation of wisdom. Being revolutionary is about right conduct, protecting values, and uplifting the nation through learning,” he said.
He concluded by reiterating the crucial role of FTEU in preparing teachers aligned with the values of the Islamic Revolution, calling this the university’s fundamental national responsibility.
