Message from the Chancellor of Farhangian University on the Occasion of Student Day
The 16th of Azar( 7 December) is not only a historical commemoration, but an occasion for rethinking the mission of universities and reaffirming the responsibilities of a generation whose role is decisive in shaping the scientific, cultural and identity-based future of our homeland. It is a day when universities reiterate their commitment to awareness, the pursuit of justice, independence, social responsibility, and the defense of rights.
The student-teachers of Farhangian University are the inheritors of a profound intellectual tradition grounded in the cultivation of Islamic–Iranian human values and the construction of a new civilization.
Dear students, beyond your academic role, you carry a cultural, educational and historical mission—one that extends far beyond classroom boundaries and is inseparably linked with truth-seeking, rationality, hope, national identity and the ideals of the Islamic Revolution.
This year, the world has once again witnessed the steadfastness and suffering of nations confronted with oppression and violence, including the twelve-day conflict imposed by the Zionist regime on the dignified people of the region. In this unequal confrontation, a number of scholars, educators, university students and schoolchildren lost their lives—individuals whose only weapons were faith, knowledge and a humanitarian spirit. Their memory remains a guiding light on the path of enlightenment, justice-seeking and the defense of truth.
Farhangian University takes pride in its educational, revolutionary and popular identity—an identity forged through the sacrifice of more than one thousand martyrs and increasingly reflected in the social responsibility, intellectual commitment and professional dedication of the nation’s educators in the fifth decade after the Islamic Revolution.
Today as well, our student-teachers continue to shine in scientific, research-based, cultural, social, sports and artistic arenas: winning top national competitions, publishing research, engaging in service activities in disadvantaged areas, organizing cultural programs and playing an active role in national events. All of these attest to the fact that “teaching” is not merely a profession—it is a profound human mission.
Even more valuable than tangible achievements is the transformation of perspective you acquire: learning how to learn while teaching others. This represents the distinctive essence of Farhangian University—training teachers who themselves remain lifelong learners.
With the sincere attention of the esteemed Government toward educational equity and the national education system, we stand on the verge of significant developments. Our vision for student-teachers is to cultivate educators who:
1 Possess mastery of emerging technologies and innovative teaching-learning methods;
2 Think in skill-based and problem-oriented ways;
3 Serve as true mentors for ethical, identity-based and civic development;
4 And, with a passion for lifelong learning, inspire young generations in their pursuit of knowledge and progress.
You are not only learners of knowledge but ambassadors of transformation within the Islamic Republic of Iran’s education system.
Just as the martyred scholar Morteza Motahari influenced an entire generation through his thought and scholarship, I am certain that you, through knowledge, ethics and devotion, will have a lasting impact on the future of this nation. Each of you is like a fruitful sapling that will take root in the sacred soil of our schools and extend the branches of knowledge over the next generation.
Dear student-teachers, be proud that you study at a university whose mission is to train the nation-builders of tomorrow.
On this Student Day, I extend my warmest congratulations and profound respect to all conscientious, committed and hardworking student-teachers throughout the country, and I pray that the Almighty may grant each of you greater honor, success and influence in fulfilling the lofty aims of the Islamic Revolution and building a future of hope.
Rajab Ali Borzooei
