The Minister of Education, Education and Farhangian University officials, and a large number of teachers and student teachers across the country visited the Supreme leader of Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on the occasion of Teachers’ Week (on May 7, 2015). The leader of the revolution, welcomed all Teachers, educators, and officials and congratulated teachers’ Day to all. The Supreme leader said that “… With regard to the position and value of Education and future teachers, any cost in this sector, is in fact a real investment. … “. The Supreme leader also stressed that economics of education must be considered and programmed carefully. He emphasized on the role of teachers in training great people and dignitaries and said : “… the task of teachers is to produce a generation of faith , a generation who are wise, confident, hopeful for the future, happy, enlightened, and strong-willed, and who possesses physical and mental health”. Islamic Revolution Leader pointed to the responsibilities of teachers and said:” The main duties of teachers are to create a better and higher human society, which is located along the task of the prophets (i.e. education, refinement, and self-purification)". He indicated that “To fulfill the actual mission, there are some requirements which must be provided for teachers”. Regarding the issue of teachers' livelihoods, he specially stated that government officials, particularly economic officials, despite economic limitations, must put special look on teachers and education and make it their priority issues.

With respect to the role of Farhangian University and teacher education, the Supreme leader said: “The subject of Farhangian University is important because the recruitment and training of teachers are done through it”. Referring to the document of fundamental transformation of education and its confirmation by the prominent experts, the Supreme leader emphasized that “… this document whose provisions is mandatory is to be effective if it is coherently and completely implemented. And if part of the document is executed in education and other sectors neglected, it will not be affective in making fundamental change and change will not happen“.  The Supreme leader added that the situation is now available and ready for fundamental change in education and today, fortunately, there is stability and security in the country and government officials are working with enthusiasm and in such circumstances, the context for quality education is provided up to a desirable point. At the end of this part of his speech honoring teachers and said:” from here I send Greetings to all teachers across the country”.
