The second meeting of the working group on the quantitative development of cultural policy and teacher student admission procedures in Farhangian University

 

 

 

The second meeting of the Working Group on the quantitative development of cultural policy and admission procedures of Farhangian University (FU) was held on 14 September in Administrative Building of the university with the presence of Dr. Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, member of the Board of Trustees of FU, Prof. Dr. Mehrmohammadi, acting president of FU, Dr. Navid, Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Jahromy Salimi, head of the Planning Center of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Abbas Sadri, Chairman of the ISESCO regional Office in Tehran, and Dr. Sadeghzadeh, the Deputy of Culture of FU. At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Mehrmohammadi thanked the members of the Working Group and gave a concise report of discussions and decisions made in the last meeting with respect to the various procedures and approaches of teacher student admission. Prof. Dr. Mehrmohammadi also introduced the doctrines of Farhangian University for student admission and mentioned to ten principles as tenets that directly affect admissions and outlined five other ones that are not directly effective in this regard.

 

In the following of the meeting, Dr. Haddad Adel, member of the Board of Trustees of FU, at the beginning of his speech, referred to the expectations expected of FU, and said: “Now the distance between the ideal and reality in the field of teacher training is very high” and we have not yet reached this belief that one of the ways for progress in any science is to access approaches to teach that science and expert knowledge of education is the infrastructure for the development of the country in any aspects and areas. In another part of his arguments, Dr. Haddad Adel pointed to the necessary of training for teachers and divided it into the following three categories:

 

A)- Science education (education of science in accordance with special curriculum that every teacher should teach)

B)- Methods of training (including education knowledge and skills and all teaching methods ranging from general teaching methodology and teaching methods for specific purposes)

  C)- Training of visions (including lessons in moral and religious matters as well as training of the Islamic Revolution , Persian language, Persian literature, etc.)

 

Other members of the Committee also stated their views on the priorities of the University for Teacher Student Admission and agreed on using the capacity of all universities in the country, particularly in science education. It is worth noting that the summarized discussions of this Working Group would be discussed and approved on the next meeting of the Board of Trustees.
