The Strength of cultural function in Farhangian University should be highlighted more than other universities

Speaking at a joint meeting of the heads of universities of Tehran and heads of representative offices of the Supreme Leader which was held in Mashhad, Prof. Dr. Mehrmohammadi said , “… providing a strategy which brings about the reinforcement of cultural function is of the utmost importance”. He added that culture would not be formed in the classroom through official and mandatory curriculum. Therefore, we cannot be content with the common curricula and training and hoping to develop culture only through lecturing our students. In fact, we must move toward an outside-classroom format and strategy in the field of culture. If the utility of space and culture is properly provided and students breathe in such an atmosphere, we are closer to the ideal situation. Prof. Mehrmohammadi stated that “ … we should not look at cultural function as an extracurricular program. The term “extra-curricular cultural programs” gives a negative connotation and a defected meaning hindering human mind to understand its importance and implication. Cultural function must be seen as a different officially recognized curriculum with great value.
