Identity change occurs in Teacher Education
Prof. Dr. Mehrmohammadi, acting president of Farhangian University, participated as the keynote speaker in the meeting of Curriculum Studies Association on 10 November. On the theme of identity of the teachers he said:” … kind of change in teacher education is in fact a kind of identity change, then teacher education makes sense with identity change ”. He added that “ …if such identity change would be elaborated and explained appropriately, we reach to the fact that is called reflective teacher.” He stated that teachers do not generate knowledge and reflectivity will be manifested in a teacher if he/she realizes and appreciates various situations, innovative and effective action to achieve objectives and beside all these critical competencies, a competent reflective teacher takes advantages of axiomatic, declarative and theoretical knowledge as well. Prof. Dr. Mehrmohammadi said that Farhangian University should move towards professional direction and link to other universities in the country for sustainable development and it should have a professional approach. The rest of the meeting was devoted to the question and answer session with members.
