Vice-presidency for Research and Technology

Vice-presidency for Research and Technology

Vice-presidency for Research and Technology is one of the Five vice-presidencies of Farhangian University. Since education and research are the main pillars of any universities, this vice-presidency plays a remarkable role in optimizing teacher education in Iran. The vice-presidency consists of three general administrations including the Office of Planning for Research Affairs, General Administration of Publications and Domestic Science Production and Directorate of communication with society and Scientific and Research Cooperation.

The Office of Planning for Research Affairs is tasked with organizing the research affairs of the professors and students of the university, providing guidelines for the research practices of the students and faculty members, and finally prioritizing research topics and projects.

The General Administration of Publications and Domestic Science Production embarks on publication of textbooks and scientific journals, production of educational CDs and other scientific works and production of domestic contents for teacher education and translation from foreign languages of recently published texts on teacher education.

The Directorate of communication with society and Scientific and Research Cooperation is tasked with management and planning the FUTE scientific and research cooperation with other universities, research institutes and science associations. Organizing conferences and symposiums is another task of this administration.

Organizing annual national conferences on teacher education is one of the major steps taken by the Research and Technology Department. These conferences are organized to introduce the Iranian academicians and science society to the teacher education discourse. Thus, the discourse of teacher education which had been neglected in Iran’s departments of education and psychology has become a focus of attention.
