Dr. Saki, the Vice President of Research and Technology of FTEU, at the first Translator Training Course of FTEU
Dr. Saki, the Vice President of Research and Technology of FTEU, at the opening of the first Translator Training Course stated:
“To develop Teacher Education, We need to use the global experience”
In line with developing the Teacher Education in Iran using the global experience and innovations, the inaugural ceremony of the first period of " Translator Training course", with the participation of a number of FTEU professors, was held at the Farhangian Club of Tehran. Dr. Saki, the Vice president of research and technology of FTEU, explained the vice presidency’s plans for the development of PCK knowledge.
Dr. Saki referred to research study as the pivotal policy of FTEU in the field of research and said: “As a Teacher Education University, we need to increase our ability in specialized fields of education.
He noted education and research as an integrated and interconnected activity, and pointed out that “research serves as a provider of knowledge and awareness for educators”, so education cannot be considered valid without research.
Dr. Saki added that "The credibility of the university and the professors depends on how they consider the importance of research."
He introduce the vice presidency’s plans for the development of subject-pedagogical knowledge as follows:
- Holding conferences and festivals on subject knowledge-education (content training knowledge),
- Providing grant for research opportunities for professors to have professional training, (during which the university professors, in cooperation with the reputable universities complete an interdisciplinary research in the field of specialized education and receive the professorship training certificate);
- Development the publication of scientific journals specialized in the training of specialized fields
- Supporting the translation of global experience in the field of Teacher Education and specialized training;
- Striving to develop the Teacher education in Iran through the use of global experience and innovations,
- supporting research, dissertation and related theses, and
- Supporting the production of content and compilation of related books.
