Minister of Education: Farhangian University Must Be the Pillar for Shaping National Identity

In a strategic visit to Farhangian University, the Minister of Education, Mr. Alireza Kazemi, emphasized the university’s foundational role in nurturing the next generation that will embody and sustain Iran’s national identity. He asserted that Farhangian University is not merely an institution for teacher training, but must transform into a core center for developing impactful, identitybuilding, and valuecreating educators for the future of Iran.

According to the university’s Public Relations Office, quoting the Ministry of Education’s Information Center, Mr. Kazemi highlighted the critical importance of human capital in national development. “If a nation’s greatest asset is its human capital, the path to cultivating that capital starts in the classroom—with teachers—and its first step lies in Farhangian University,” he stated.

Mr. Kazemi pointed out that Farhangian University holds a position well beyond that of a conventional academic institution: “Whichever lens we use—be it growth, progress, prosperity, or the future of the country—the central role of this university becomes clear.”

He also addressed current challenges faced by the university, such as dormitory shortages, limited human resources, a lack of faculty, and unstable policy frameworks. Despite these hurdles, he commended university leadership and staff for their significant efforts in expanding educational spaces, creating innovative structures, and refining recruitment processes for student-teachers.

Underscoring the necessity for transformative change, Mr. Kazemi remarked, “Classrooms at Farhangian University should not merely be venues for delivering content. They must become hubs of culture, education, and analysis. The university professor is not simply an instructor, but a builder of identity, a shaper of humanity, and a nurturer of teachers.”

He called for a thorough review of educational content, noting, “The content we produce must be clear, relevant, and aligned with contemporary needs. Curricula, extracurricular programs, and teaching methods must be continuously updated and made effective for today’s demands.”

Criticizing ad hoc and fragmented decision-making, Mr. Kazemi added, “Such an important university cannot be managed through isolated, short-term, or subjective actions. Farhangian University needs a comprehensive teacher education system and a consistent, long-term roadmap.”

He further emphasized, “The pathway for supplying human resources to the education system must be transparent, sustainable, and directly flow through Farhangian University. All organizations, including the Planning and Budget Organization, should focus their support on strengthening this university.”

In another part of his remarks, Mr. Kazemi identified human resources as the most valuable asset of any institution: “The main capital is not buildings, equipment, budget, or facilities—it is the people who form the backbone of any organization.”

He highlighted the importance of unity, empathy, and managerial cohesion as essential conditions for the university’s success: “Professional differences are natural, but after reaching a decision, everyone must be committed to advancing along a unified path. Unity does not imply political consensus or regional commonality—it means teamwork, coordination, and collective effort toward shared goals.”

Stressing the need for continual high-quality service, Mr. Kazemi concluded, “The university will advance only through robust oversight, active field presence by managers, and heartfelt teamwork. We are committed to providing unwavering support to Farhangian University.”

In closing, the Minister expressed hope that by strengthening this trajectory, obstacles facing Farhangian University will be minimized and it will attain its rightful and respected position within the nation.
