Farhangian University Adopts "Quality-Centered Development Through Unity" as its Motto for the New Academic Year
First Joint Meeting of the University President, Board of Trustees, and Central Management Staff Focuses on Strategic Planning and Effective Program Implementation
Tehran, April 12, 2026 — Farhangian University commenced its strategic planning for the new academic year with its first joint meeting of the year, bringing together President Dr. Rajab‑Ali Borzooei, the university’s Board of Trustees, and central management staff. The primary focus of the session was to review and formulate the university’s programs for the upcoming year, with a strong emphasis on ensuring effective implementation across all provincial campuses and reinforcing the central organization's role in strategic guidance and oversight.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Borzooei provided a concise overview of the university’s accomplishments in the past year (1404), highlighting significant progress in crucial areas. He noted a substantial increase in the university's budget, enabling the expansion of dormitory facilities to 117,000 square meters and a notable enhancement of per-student dormitory allocations. He contrasted this achievement with previous years, stating that the entire budget of prior years did not even match the past year's allocation.
Dr. Borzooei expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support received from various national entities, including the President, the Civil Service Management Organization, the Planning and Budget Organization, the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament), the Education Commission of the Parliament, the Minister of Education, the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, and the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. This support, he emphasized, has been instrumental in the university’s pursuit of its objectives.
In terms of human capital development, Dr. Borzooei reported that 600 new faculty members have entered the recruitment process through the Central Recruitment Board, with an additional 200 PhD holders from among the ranks of teachers having been appointed as faculty members.
Significant improvements were also reported in welfare and sports facilities. Dr. Borzooei pointed out that as recently as 18 months ago, approximately 70% of university centers lacked even a basic wellness room. However, he proudly announced that all educational centers are now equipped with sports facilities and recreational amenities, alongside a considerable expansion of educational and auxiliary learning spaces.
Dr. Borzooei extended his appreciation to the Farhangian University campuses in various provinces for their cultural activities and contributions during the recent "Ramadan War" period. He affirmed that the cultural centers established across the provinces, known as "Mokebs," will continue their operations until the ultimate victory of the forces of truth against arrogance. He urged faculty, student‑teachers, and staff to intensify their engagement in these cultural initiatives, playing a more prominent role in "Jihad of Explanation" (Jihad of Elucidation).
He also highlighted the growth in the cultural budget, expressing expectations that the planned extracurricular activities will significantly contribute to the holistic development of student‑teachers' educational, ethical, and professional dimensions.
Emphasizing the imperative of comprehensive university development through the utilization of all its capacities, Dr. Borzooei officially announced the university's motto for the year as "Quality-Centered Development Through Unity." He urged all members of the university to align their programs and initiatives with this guiding principle.
Reviewing the past year's activities, Dr. Borzooei provided insights into the challenges that impacted the execution of certain programs, offering valuable managerial guidance to ensure greater efficacy in the year ahead.
Hojjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimeen Ali Taghavi, the representative of the Supreme Leader's office at Farhangian University, offered an analysis of current affairs, including the ongoing conflict. He underscored the university's pivotal role in cultural development and emphasized the critical duties of professors and students in the present context. He stated, "The scientific and student community must be aware of its cultural heritage and identity roots. This awareness is essential to resist Western civilizational currents, prevent subjugation and inaction, and preserve intellectual and cultural independence."
Mr. Jalal Dalqandi, the Minister of Education's representative and advisor to Farhangian University, commended the university's efforts during the "Ramadan War." He presented an update on the latest developments and current issues, reinforcing the need for uniformity in approach, expansion of university programs, and diligent implementation of the directives issued by the Minister of Education. He particularly stressed that professors at Farhangian University bear a unique and central responsibility in shaping the identity of student‑teachers, with expectations extending beyond those of other universities, especially in areas of fairness, academic integrity, professional commitment, and social exemplary conduct.
