Appointment Announcement: Prof. Mehrzad Hamidi has been Appointed as the Interim Head of Farhangian University
In a recent decree from the Minister of Education, Mehrzad Hamidi has been appointed as the new interim head of the Farhangian University.
According to the Public Relations Office of the National University of Education, citing the Information and Public Relations Center of the Ministry of Education, Mehrzad Hamidi, a full professor at the University of Tehran and an experienced educator, has taken on this significant role.
Hamidi previously served as the Deputy for Physical Education and Health at the Ministry of Education for over eight years. He is recognized as a strategic leader with a strong ethical foundation, a commitment to transformative practices, and a reputation for efficiency within the educational sector. A hallmark of his management style is his dedication to empowering youth, fostering an environment in which many young leaders have been developed under his guidance.
During his tenure, he emphasized the implementation of the Fundamental Transformation Document with a scientific and specialized perspective based on program-oriented, ethical, and school-centered approaches. His initiatives have garnered positive responses from various stakeholders in the education system, particularly the students.
Significant contributions of Hamidi to institutional development include the establishment of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the founding of the University Sports Federation, legally establishing the Student Sports Federation, and initiating the structural organization of the National Center for Childhood Training within the Ministry of Education.
His extensive management experience includes roles as the Deputy Head of the National Physical Education Organization, President of the University Sports Federation, Director of Physical Education at the Ministry of Science, and Head of the Sports Management Department at the University of Tehran. He has also been responsible for scholarly publications in the field of sports management.
Hamidi has authored 15 books and produced over 170 scientific and research articles. In 2023, he was recognized as a distinguished professor at the University of Tehran.
Throughout his academic journey, Hamidi was an active and revolutionary youth involved in the project of Martyr Dr. Beheshti for shaping managers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and contributed as a combatant during the Sacred Defense. He studied religious sciences and political science under the mentorship of prominent scholars, including Martyr Dr. Beheshti, the late Ayatollah Haeri Shirazi, Ayatollah Daei Najaf Abadi, and Dr. Rajabi Davani.
