Acting President of Farhangian University Emphasizes Accuracy and Transparency in the Teacher Competency Assessment Process

Mehrzad Hamidi identified the two projects of teacher competency assessment and the “Mehr Opportunity Project” as the main priorities of Farhangian University and the Ministry of Education for the start of the new academic year, emphasizing the need for an accurate and transparent implementation of the teacher competency assessment process.

According to the Public Relations Office of the Central Organization of Farhangian University, the second meeting of the Strategic Headquarters for Teacher Competency Assessment for candidates seeking admission to the university in 2026 was held on July 27, 2026, with the participation of Mehrzad Hamidi, Acting President of Farhangian University. The meeting focused on reviewing and discussing the process for assessing candidates’ teaching competencies.

Hamidi emphasized the need to quantify qualitative aspects in order to ensure more accurate assessment, stating: “Qualitative issues must be translated into measurable indicators so that they can be objectively assessed and evaluated.”

He also stressed the importance of holding training, briefing and orientation sessions for personnel responsible for conducting teacher competency assessments in Tehran and other provinces. He noted that training assessment personnel is a fundamental component of the candidate evaluation process and added that educational materials such as instructional videos, posters, brochures and podcasts could be highly effective and appropriate tools for this purpose.

The Acting President of Farhangian University referred to the two key projects of Farhangian University and the Ministry of Education for the beginning of the new academic year, namely the teacher competency assessment and the “Mehr Opportunity Project,” as the university’s main priorities. He added that the teacher competency assessment process is time-consuming and that all of its stages must therefore be carried out with a high degree of accuracy and complete transparency.

Hamidi concluded by referring to the numerous meetings held to design and refine the teacher competency assessment process, stating that experts in the field had been consulted throughout these sessions to ensure that this year’s assessment process would be improved compared with previous years, conducted with greater precision, and protected against ambiguity and potential bias.
