Acting President of Farhangian University: Strengthening Ties with Provincial Departments of Education to Be Pursued with Greater Momentum

The Acting President of Farhangian University emphasized the need to strengthen interaction between Farhangian University and the Ministry of Education and announced that efforts to deepen cooperation between provincial branches of the university and provincial departments of education will be accelerated.

According to the Public Relations Office of Farhangian University, Mehrzad Hamidi made the remarks during a joint meeting with the Director General of the Tehran Department of Education and the department’s deputies. Outlining the university’s missions and transformational approaches, he emphasized its strategic role in preparing competent and capable teachers for the country’s education system.

Referring to the main components of Farhangian University’s programs, Prof. Hamidi stated that moving toward faculty-centered management, strengthening residential university life, expanding student-teacher volunteer activities, improving the quality of practicum programs, and establishing and developing affiliated schools are among the university’s key approaches to preparing high-quality teachers and improving the quality of education for future students.

Referring to the remarks of the Director General of the Tehran Department of Education, the Acting President of Farhangian University noted that a competent teacher can only be developed within a high-quality teacher education system. Therefore, reforming and improving teacher education processes is an unavoidable necessity to ensure that their graduates are specialized, committed and effective teachers capable of meeting the needs of the country’s education system.

Hamidi emphasized the strategic position of Farhangian University in achieving the objectives of the education system and added: “If we fail to pay sufficient attention to high-quality teacher education, we will be accountable with regard to the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and our martyred Leader, who was among the most important supporters of Farhangian University.”

Emphasizing the importance of synergy between Farhangian University and the Ministry of Education, he stated: “Our goal is to stand alongside all sectors of the Ministry of Education, both in pursuing our ideals and in practical implementation, and to mobilize all the capacities of Farhangian University to advance the Ministry’s higher objectives and improve the quality of the education and training system.”

During the meeting, Majid Parsa, Director General of the Tehran Department of Education, emphasized the strategic role of Farhangian University in supplying and preparing the human resources required by the education system and expressed the department’s readiness to expand joint cooperation and interaction with the university.

He stated that Farhangian University is the most important institution for preparing the country’s future teachers and that supporting student teachers and creating the necessary conditions for their academic, professional and practical development are among the priorities of the Tehran Department of Education.

Parsa added that leveraging shared capacities, expanding practicum programs, drawing on the experience of school teachers, and creating appropriate opportunities for student teachers to engage effectively in educational settings can play an important role in improving the quality of teacher education and strengthening teaching and learning processes.

Parsa also emphasized the comprehensive support of the Tehran Department of Education for Farhangian University’s programs and stated that the department is prepared, through greater cooperation and synergy, to help achieve shared objectives and prepare capable, committed teachers who meet the needs and standards of the country’s education system.
