Emphasis on Transforming into a Sixth-Generation University and Strengthening National Unity

The Representative and Adviser of the Minister of Education at Farhangian University, addressing the gathering of provincial presidents and members of the university’s Board of Directors, outlined the strategic responsibilities of the academic community in the Second Step of the Islamic Revolution and emphasized the need to transition toward human-centered and society-building universities.

According to the Public Relations Office of Farhangian University, Jalal Dalghandi, the Representative and Adviser of the Minister of Education at Farhangian University, spoke at the second gathering of provincial presidents of Farhangian University, held on July 20, 2026, at the Shahid Bahonar Cultural Complex in Tehran.

At the outset, Dalghandi commemorated the memory of the “Martyred Imam,” describing him as a powerful yet wronged figure and a leader and role model for Shiites, Muslims and freedom-seekers around the world. He expressed hope that the perpetrators responsible for his killing would soon face justice.

Emphasizing the importance of following the conduct and teachings of the Martyred Imam, he said that he was a genuine advocate of unity among all groups and denominations, and that unity and brotherhood were consistently among his priorities.

Referring to messages from the Supreme Leader, Dalghandi described “unity of word and sacred solidarity” at all levels of government and society as among the most fundamental requirements for realizing the ideals of the Islamic Revolution. He stated that sound decisions and responsible conduct by academic elites have a direct impact on maintaining a peaceful university and social environment and strengthening public trust.

Reviewing the evolution of universities from the first to the sixth generation, he outlined the defining characteristics of sixth-generation universities, noting that while earlier generations primarily focused on education and research, the sixth-generation university is centered on human development and building a better society.

The Representative and Adviser of the Minister of Education at Farhangian University, referring to the Second Step of the Islamic Revolution, emphasized that knowledge is a means of achieving national dignity and power, while spirituality and ethics—including honesty, humility and courage—contribute to transforming the living environment into a better place.

Criticizing the practice of transferring all provincial challenges to the central organization, Dalghandi called on provincial presidents to rely on the principle of “We can” and develop short- and long-term operational plans to address challenges within their own provinces. He emphasized that what exhausts managers is not the amount of work, but rather the absence of planning.

He also stressed the importance of leveraging capacities such as charitable organizations and engaging strategically with members of Parliament to secure funding and develop infrastructure and physical facilities in the provinces.

At the conclusion, Dalghandi referred to the Minister of Education’s satisfaction with the quality of the gathering and the recent appointments, and highlighted the Minister’s support for and cooperation with Farhangian University.
